The Power of Alignment
Apostle Selman began by emphasizing the importance of alignment in the spiritual journey. He taught that alignment means positioning oneself correctly in order to access the fullness of God’s blessings. He used the analogy of electricity, explaining that just as a properly wired electrical system can transmit power effectively, so too must we be properly aligned with God’s will and His ways to receive the flow of grace and miracles in our lives.
He quoted from Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” This, he explained, is one of the most profound spiritual laws. The key to accessing God’s blessings lies in prioritizing Him and His kingdom. When we make the things of God our focus, the doors of favor, healing, and provision are opened to us. Alignment is not just about prayer but involves yielding completely to God’s instructions, even when they are contrary to human logic or desires.
Faith: The Currency of the Kingdom
Faith, Apostle Selman emphasized, is the currency with which we transact in the kingdom of God. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). He urged believers to cultivate unwavering faith in the promises of God, even in the face of delays, challenges, or disappointments. Apostle Selman warned that doubt and fear are the greatest hindrances to miracles. Many times, he explained, believers are close to their breakthroughs, but doubt steps in and delays or derails the manifestation of God’s promises.
He shared stories of biblical figures like Abraham, who despite his old age, believed God for a child and received the promise. He also mentioned the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34), who, despite her circumstances and years of suffering, exercised her faith by pressing through the crowd to touch Jesus’ garment. Her faith, coupled with action, was the catalyst for her miraculous healing.
Miracles and the Love of God
Apostle Selman also reminded the congregation that God is not a respecter of persons. He passionately emphasized that God’s willingness to perform miracles is rooted in His love for His children. He recounted how Jesus, during His earthly ministry, was moved with compassion and healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, and restored the broken-hearted. The love of God is the foundation of miracles. Therefore, no matter the challenges or impossibilities in our lives, we must remember that God is always willing to intervene, not because we are perfect, but because He is a loving Father.
